How to Open the Command Prompt as Administrator in Windows 8.1



In most cases, the command prompt can be opened as a regular user to run commands that don’t require administrative rights. But for most developers they will require to run most commands that do require administrative right. In such cases, for the commands to run ,one must open the command prompt window as administrator.

Here are the steps to follow to archieve this:

1. Move your cursor to the Windows Search icon and click on it.


2. Type in "cmd" which is the command prompt and wait for it to appear.


3. Once you have gotten it as shown, then right click on it to view a menu bar as shown below.


4. On the menu there is an option to run it as an administrator, hence click on it.


5. After that it will ask you wheather to launch it as an admin click    "yes".


6. Finally you have it running as an adinistrator.
